Here, I’m at the surface with me,
there, I’m at the bottom with you.
I left home in order to find myself with others, through meetings that are small moments of celebration.
A thousand waters is
a solo that ritualises and celebrates
the cry on a
continuity
of endings.
Fuck,
let’s kill evil
in the bud
and also of course,
have the courage
to recognise
the end.
I wanted it to be like
a jubilee,
a party,
indulgence
because I want it
to end with a celebration.
So that’s it,
going to the rotten,
and then the light,
the rotten
and then light
again
and
again.
All of this inside a bathtub,
I enjoy it,
if the water
is super hot
and our bodies are
like a church up
in flames.

In Águasmil, my starting point was the physical clash of bathing in water and in wine. These paths have led me to an internal transformation, physically, emotionally, and energetically. Also a space of many breakthroughs of my ancestry as well as places of generational trauma established in the collective.

In 2022, Águasmil, a solo in the format of a funereal ritual act inspired by a village celebration, during which for the span of 1 hour I talk, dance, and bath in wine. During this investigative process I was questioning myself about: How does one process mourning? this became a deep dive into my masculine ancestry. The development of the piece took place through different spots in the county, where I worked with my body submerged in water as a way to process loss. I explored the dormant states and collective addictions to combat places of trauma and pain, and for that, I was drinking between half and one liter of wine, and then bathing my body in a basin of wine, dealing with states of drunkness while engaging in celebratory mourning.

In creative process of O Águasmil, I explored male ancestry, I put myself in a place to confront the internal dispute with my ancestral baggage, facing simultaneously its dilemmas and conscious thought patterns. The rescue of the ritual is inseparable from the body, and with this I am looking to resignify the pagan rituals still present in the colloquial imagery of the village, facilitating a sacred space where I use time as a means to further reveal the authentic magic present in the body forgotten by many. The body is sacred, has memory, knows, and recognizes.
